Diagnosis - Radial scar

Features to note:


• On low power this is a star-shaped lesion with radiating "legs"



• Usual epithelial hyperplasia often present within ducts



• Two cell types present in glandular structures trapped in scar tissue - use immuno to help prove this



• 5-10% of cases have co-existent carcinoma (DCIS or invasive) mixed up in one or more segments
