Diagnosis - High grade ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) with comedo necrosis
Features to note:
- Collection of duct structures with central area of necrotic debris and surrounding zone of high grade malignant epithelial cells
- Epithelium confined to duct structures with no dfinite evi8dence of invasion/microinvasion of surrounding stroma
- In contrast to benign or atypical epithelial proliferations there is no co-proliferation of myopethial cells in DCIS - can be shown with immuno
