Diagnosis - Invasive lobular carcinoma, clasical pattern and lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS)

Features to note:


• Invasive cancer subtle infiltrating through stroma in single files of cells or small narrow nests



• Invasive carcinoma cytology characteristic - small(ish) cells, pink cyoplasm +/- a vacuole, eccentric nucleus



• LCIS cells are small and regular and fill acinar spaces
