Metaplastic breast cancer with heterologous (rhabdomyoblastic) differentiation



Large breast tumour in an elderly female. Sections showed that it was composed almost entirely of these strap-like rhabdomyoblastic spindle cells. These cells showed weak positive staining for the myoglobin immunostain.


Metaplastic carcinoma



A small focus of epithelial differentiation was seen in a section from only one of twelve tumour blocks examined.
